1. Prepare Your App

  • Develop Your App: Ensure your app is fully developed, tested, and ready for release.
  • App Bundle or APK: Generate a signed App Bundle (.aab) or APK (.apk) for production.
  • App Requirements: Make sure your app complies with Google Play policies, including content, privacy, and advertising.


2. Create a Google Play Developer Account

  • Sign Up: Visit the Google Play Console and sign up as a developer.
  • Pay Registration Fee: Pay a one-time registration fee of $25.
  • Complete Account Setup: Fill in the necessary details, including your developer profile.

3. Create a New Application

  • Go to All Apps: In the Play Console, click on "All Apps."
  • Click on Create App: Select the "Create App" button.
  • App Details: Enter your app’s name, default language, app or game type, free or paid, and declare your app’s target audience.
  • Save and Continue: Click “Create” to proceed.

4. Fill in Store Listing Information

  • Product Details: Add your app's title, short description, and full description.
  • Graphics Assets: Upload required assets like app icons, feature graphics, screenshots, videos, etc.
  • Category and Tags: Choose the appropriate category (e.g., Game, Education) and add tags relevant to your app.
  • Contact Details: Provide a contact email, website, and privacy policy link.

5. Set Up App Content

  • Content Rating: Complete the content rating questionnaire to get an appropriate rating for your app.
  • Target Audience and Content: Define your app’s target audience and specify if your app contains ads.
  • Privacy Policy: Provide a link to your privacy policy, especially if your app handles sensitive user data.

6. Prepare for Release

  • App Releases: Go to the "Release" section in the Play Console.
  • Create a Release: Click on "Production," then “Create New Release.”
  • Upload Your App Bundle/APK: Upload your .aab or .apk file.
  • Review Release Details: Add release notes for users, detailing what’s new in this version.

7. Set Up Pricing and Distribution

  • Set Pricing: Decide if your app will be free or paid. Remember, once an app is free, it cannot be changed to paid.
  • Select Countries: Choose the countries where you want your app to be available.
  • Device Types: Specify the device types your app is compatible with (e.g., phones, tablets, TVs).

8. Review and Rollout Release

  • Review Summary: Go through the summary of all your app's information, including app content, store listing, and release details.
  • Submit for Review: If everything looks good, click “Start Rollout to Production” to submit your app for review.

9. Wait for Google’s Review

  • Review Process: Google will review your app to ensure it complies with its policies. This can take a few hours to a couple of days.
  • Approval or Rejection: Once reviewed, your app will either be approved and published or you will receive feedback on necessary changes.

10. Monitor App Performance

  • Track Downloads and Ratings: Use the Play Console to monitor your app’s performance, user feedback, and ratings.
  • Update Regularly: Keep your app updated with new features and improvements to maintain a good user experience and ranking.
